As Malcolm Forbes famously defined, “Diversity [is] the art of thinking independently together.” And this is the challenge of today’s leader, to create an environment where diverse perspectives are recognized as the key to enriching an organization’s culture. As a participant in this course, you will be challenged to identify your own personal biases which may impact your leadership roles and activities. You will also be inspired by the stories of local leaders who have taken bold steps to build cultural understanding and connection within their communities. More than a set of tools or strategies—the aim of this learning experience is to deepen cultural awareness and to build empathy and respect for values and viewpoints different from your own. Bound to be personally transformative.
